Ghosts 'R Us
|[||I Am So
|[||They Are Chanting
Hey, I'm Nathan and I live in Danville. I don't have many personal experiences, but my fiance has had a couple. I have been a several sites here in Danville and know the supposive story of the hauntings. I live behind Old Crow's Inn which from what I've been told you can see ghosts of the slaves from the civil war era. There's also the Erskine Mansion, several stories surrounding it, from ghost slaves to a Man who went insane on Christmas Morning killing his family and himself. It has been said that the holiday decore is still up and blood stains everywhere. However, unsure of the ownership to get access inside. You can go straight up to the house and everything but not get in. The other one I know of here is actually in Garrard Co. at the US 27 and US 34 intersection. State Government ordered this house have the lower right window shutters closed and never reopened, due to many auto-accidents. These accidents would revovle around a image of a young girl hanging herself in the window. There's another story to that same room about a woman waiting for her husband to return from war, and she died waiting. When he finally came home he died in the same room. If anyone knows more about the places here or other places I don't know of. I'm all ears.
Now, as for my personal experience, We (fiance, friend, and I) were driving along Devil's Creek Rd. and Dog Slaughter Rd. in between Corbin and Cumberland Falls. These roads are gravel roads and no houses nearby. I saw what I thought were dogs alongside the road, however they disappeared behind me. My fiance had seen a couple guys along side the road. Possibly hunters and thier dogs, but at 3am in the dark?
Now, I'd like to further "investigate" these places here in Danville and the Old Mental Hospital near Downtown Louisville. But don't know the contacts to get permission.
Hey Kristen, My fiance is from Harlan, Jaime Caldwell. Her mother still lives there and we visit often. Jaime knows of a few places there if you don't already know of them.
